Overview

Nestled in the heart of Sevilla’s historic Casco Antiguo, Rosa de San Gil stands as a charming tapas bar that captures the essence of Andalusian cuisine and culture. Its location on San Luis, just steps from iconic landmarks, offers both locals and visitors a genuine taste of Spanish flavors wrapped in a welcoming atmosphere.

The space is intimate and inviting, with a delightful little patio shaded by the Basilica, perfect for savoring a morning café con leche or an evening of shared dishes. The ambiance reflects the buzz and warmth of Sevilla’s social dining culture, where locals mingle with tourists drawn to authentic experiences.

Rosa de San Gil excels in showcasing traditional tapas with a refined touch. Signature dishes like Chicharrones provide a crispy, satisfying start, while the Patatas Bravas deliver the classic, spicy kick expected from this beloved staple. For those seeking something uniquely Andalusian, the Cazon en Adobo stands out—a tender cod in light batter that perfectly balances texture and flavor.

The menu also highlights beloved crowd-pleasers such as the Serranito, a hearty sandwich combining succulent Iberian pork and fresh, rustic ingredients. The Ensaladilla Rusa and Albóndigas Caseras transport you deeper into Spain’s culinary heart with their homey, rich flavors. Meanwhile, the Espinacas con Garbanzos offer a nutritious nod to regional vegetarian options.

Drinks complement the food beautifully, with their house Sangria evoking the warmth and brightness of Sevilla’s sunny afternoons. The young, attentive bar staff add to the overall experience, ensuring each visit feels personal and well-cared-for.

Visitors repeatedly mention the friendly, inclusive vibe here. From tourists welcomed warmly by attentive staff to locals enjoying weekend gatherings, Rosa de San Gil creates a space where tables become meeting points and meals turn into memories.

Really good croquettes here - traditional flavours 5/5! Came back on the last day of our trip - it’s a little bit out of the way - and did not regret at all for our last tapas lunch!

Literally out the door of our apartment. The place is extremely busy on weekend afternoons. During the week easy to get a table and rub elbows with a locals. Great selection of Tapas type foods and the draft beer is absolutely delicious. The young barkeep does a fantastic job tending the bar and keeping the customers happy.

Amazing quaint little place. It's the tapas I was looking for. 4€ a plate. I could not find similar in Madrid. Which was overpriced. I had four plates the first night then then five the next day. Beautiful fresh food. Drinks are very well priced. 2.5€ . Friendly staffs. Great atmosphere. I was in a foodie heaven. Go where the locals eat. You cannot go wrong. Fantastic experience for me. They close at midnight. Rarity in other parts of the world to have a midnight diner like this! ????????
